What is the Pomodoro Technique?
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that uses a timer to break work into focused intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks.
How to Use This App
- Add Tasks: Click "+ Add Task" to create tasks with priorities, notes, and subtasks
- Select Current Task: Click any task card to set it as your active focus task
- Start Timer: Choose Pomodoro (25 min), Short Break (5 min), or Long Break (15 min) and click START
- Work Focused: Eliminate distractions and focus solely on your current task
- Take Breaks: When the timer rings, take your break seriously - step away from your desk
Best Practices
- Plan Your Day: Start by listing all tasks you want to accomplish
- One Task at a Time: Focus on completing one task before moving to the next
- Respect the Timer: When it rings, stop working - even if you're in the flow
- Take Real Breaks: Stand up, stretch, hydrate, rest your eyes
- Track Progress: Check off subtasks and mark tasks complete as you go
- Adjust Times: Customize timer durations in Settings to fit your workflow
- Use Auto-Start: Enable auto-start in Settings for seamless transitions
- 4 Pomodoros = Long Break: After 4 Pomodoro sessions, take a longer 15-30 minute break
Why It Works
Breaking work into intervals helps maintain mental freshness, reduces burnout, creates a sense of urgency, and makes large tasks feel more manageable.
